None/Not RequiredCollins Aerospace is looking to hire a Project Engineering Manager to join our team. We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.
In this role you will manage a team of professionals in Project Engineering while also performing as individual contributor, when needed. You will need to identify and react to project problems, recommend solutions, plan projects, and conduct project meetings. You will also need to support Value Streams and customer teams with resource allocation to support approved scope of work.
This position is based at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
What YOU will do:
- Support the development and execution of long-term strategy and the operational direction for the department.
- Provide overall leadership and supervision of day-to-day Project Engineering activities of employees.
- Manage the critical skills required to perform the job and provide training for the users to ensure team standards are understood and followed. Analyze skill gap and develop training plan for the team.
- Work intimately with management, functional leaders, engineering, ops, program management and others, to achieve programs success.
- Oversee and coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.
- Responsible to clearly define and manage program statement of work, creation of detailed technical schedule, execution of these schedules and prepare presentations, present program status, milestones, risks, mitigation plans, etc. at regularly scheduled program reviews.
- Review project and budget status, manage schedules, and prepare reports as applicable.
- Monitor and assess project/program issues and aids in the development of resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Contribute and support the transformation of current business practices through continuous improvement activities for Project Engineering tasks and ensure they are aligned to industry standard best practices.
- Travel up to 10 domestically and internationally when circumstances permit.

Qualifications YOU must have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Experience in managing programs or parts of a program including successfully managing small groups of engineers under technical guidance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in creating career development programs to ensure skills and performance of employees meet the organization’s current and future needs.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills including risk management, project scheduling and staffing or related.
- Engineering design and analysis experience for military or commercial aerospace equipment, systems, or sub-systems
- Knowledge of Project Management tools like project schedules (IMS), Earn Value Activity (SPI/CPI) and Engineering Release activity
