Job Description The Systems Security Engineer (SSE) is responsible for implementing and maintaining secure systems and networks. This role ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical information and infrastructure. This is achieved through proactive vulnerability identification, robust security measure implementation, and effective response to security incidents.
The SSE requires skills and expertise in diverse areas, such as defining security requirements, evaluating security architecture views, conducting thorough threat assessments, and understanding networking principles. A strong grasp of security technologies, hardware and software security, security testing and evaluation methodologies, vulnerability assessment techniques, penetration testing practices, and supply chain security risk assessment is fundamental.
SSEs collaborate with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Mission Partner Teams (MPTs), and various stakeholders to support complex systems. They provide technical expertise in Program Protection efforts, actively participating in daily tasks. This includes evaluating technology tools to ensure information protection, assessing Program Protection plans, and developing and enforcing security standards.
